If you tow and launch a boat with a 4500,make sure you have a vent hose which runs from the rear differential vent line to a higher location on the body.My differential was full of water from my last trip to the lake and needed to be flushed by the dealer! Why the vent line routes downward from the factory is beyond me. ....dave 29

Are you saying your rear axle of the truck was under water?

jperry.....Yes!I have a 29foot cat and Lake Mead is low on water. You need to go deep to launch. The vent tube actually runs up the front side of the differential over the top and then turns downward about one third of the way down the back side of the differential....dave29

ahh, good to know. I never have that issue with our boat cause the ramps stay steep even when the lake is low, but if we do boat elsewhere it could be an issue.
Thanks for the heads up.
