Just ordered a new Retrax bed cover to protect and hide my 5th wheel hitch. My old truck had a locking tailgate as original equipment (no smart remarks here please lol). As far as I know, GM does not offer a locking tailgate, even as an option. But, recognizing that there is no absolute security with almost anything, I wanted to get a tailgate lock that will provide at least some deterrence from mischief. Have seen and read about Pop-n-Lock and Bully. Do any of you have any thoughts on either of these one better than the other or is there another brand that I should be considering? I don't need or want anything that is automatic!

I installed a Bully on mine. Liked the look better..really the only reason I chose it. Only thing I didn't like was the extra key I now have to carry...They should allow for you to re-key the lock to your truck key; now THAT would be nice. I guess if someone was hell-bent to steal your tailgate or bed contents there's not much that'll stop them.

I have the Pop-n-Lock and I do not care for it. The key is hard to insert. The paint has peeled off. It looks flimsy. I would buy something else next time.
