http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/uploads/pictures_029.jpgHere are some pictures of my OEM fuel filter. How does it look compared to others. I have over 15,000 miles on this filter, iam running the racor pre filter on the frame rail with the racor r-60s filter. Iam not running any kind of conditioner. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/uploads/pictures_028.jpg

Looks like the R60 is doing a fine job of catching the large chunks in the system. Filter looks clean considering it has 15K on it.

WOW, that's clean, that thing could run another 15,000.

It's good to change the filters and keep them clean, I would much rather change them too often, than not often enough.

You are buying you fuel at a good place, keep buying it there if you can.

That filter looks good. Before I put my pre-filter on my OEM filter at 10K was MUCH dirtier than that. Now that I am filtering down to 1/10 micron, I doubt that the OEM will see much crud.

I wanted to cut open the R60s filter & see what it looked like, but didnt know where to cut it open at. I may try to cut open the r60 filter tomorrow. Can i use the Baldwin BF1223 filter instead of the R660S filter??? The Baldwins are easier to find in my area...Edited by: fishingn

I don't know if the Baldwin will thread onto a Racor head. If it will Wohoo!

According to the Baldwin cross reference chart the BF 1223 filter is a replacement for the R60s filter....

The Baldwin may fit but you may want to check out what level of filtration it provides. Not sure if the Balwin is available in 2 micron like the R60 your using?

Sent an email to Racor asking them what micron rating the BF1223 filter had. I got a email back saying that it was a 3 micron nominal. I may try one on my Racor head next filter change....The BF1223 is a replacement for the R60s filter. Wonder if it will fit on the filter head????
