I keep going back and forth and want to get a set installed this week. I have a '93 one ton 4x4 regular cab single axle 8 lugger. Choice is between these two...

Eagle 058

Eagle 101

Price is within $10 of each other. The 058's look to be deeper dished and come with a polished finish while the 101's have a super finish(whatever that is).

Ive got the 58s....never would i get an aluminum rim again. Way to much work to keep them lookin good. Spend a little more cash and get chrome.

one thing to consider is chrome vs polished (assuming polished = no chrome witout clear coat). Easier maintenance and doesnt scratch. can't go wrong with 058 - traditional look.

I would seriously consider chrome instead of polished aluminum. I have had both (currently chrome). There is a whole lot of polishing involved in aluminum wheels. You can't let brake dust set on aluminum for too long or it will oxidize. I had a set of aluminums on my 98 and I hated them, way too much work.

I have the 058s but want some 102s. 102s are similar to the 101s with e different edge on them.

Polished alum. wheels haven't seemed to be very hard to take care of. Just wash them when I wash the truck (at least once a month) and they look just fine. They aren't perfect but if you aren't squatting down looking at them, you wouldn't know it. I just don't understand the fuss about maintenance of a polished alum. rim??? I'm sure chrome is easier, but they are SO much more expensive AND the chrome can chip (and likely will eventually) and then what do you have? an expensive rim that is chitty vs. a slightly corroded alum. rim that was cheap enough to replace in 5 yrs. if you want (they are often times less than the tires).

Just my .02

Chrome rims are out. 4 wheeling takes a toll on them big time and the chrome chips off and looks really bad. 2 of my friends have gone backed to polished so I'm going by what I've seen first hand.

You guys aren't making this any easier, slight edge is going to the 58's.

058, but why are they not clear coated?

Go for the 58s then and get them anodized clear.

I have 101s on my 78. Had 102s on my 03 CC before I sold it. They didn't last for me. I'd look for chrome.

I like the 101's but the 102's look good too. Not really a fan of the 058 since most of the trucks around here run those. I would spend the extra money and find a little better rim IMO.. Good luck..

This wheel is an Eagle Alloy, but I am not sure what number. It is a 16X8

I've had both, and like the look of the 101's...but it's a preference thing. The 101's are rated @ 3420lbs max load, which is pretty good. Just keep the truck clean and you souldn't have a problem with the aluminum. I also considered Weld wheels but $$$$$$$$$$$$. Unless you're seriously wheeling the truck, I think the strength of an Eagle wheel is sufficient.

058's man. thats the way to go.

The 058's look a little sturdier - something you should be concerned about if hauling loads or working offroad.

Well after looking at them up close and personal I decided to take a couple peoples advice here and get the 102's with the super finish.

You better stay on top of those wheels in the winter or they will go to crap in a hurry, my eagle 102's didnt last long. Especially the fake beadlocks as they are not aluminum, and they will rust!

Well after looking at them up close and personal I decided to take a couple peoples advice here and get the 102's with the super finish. Those are the rims I have now...look good and don't cost you an arm and a leg, but keep up on em, like the others have said, I live out here in AZ, where it's really dry. Mine came with the polished finish.

Yeah the truck is garaged every night and we don't get hardly any snow or ice in the winter so I think they will last. After driving on them I noticed both sides were rubbing even though I put the same tires on my factory rims back on here(245 75 16). I had to trim and cut some bumper off on both sides to allow enough clearance when turning. Wasn't happy about that but I guess the back spacing is different. These are 16x8 and my facotry wheels must of been 16x7 or something. The fronts stick out a lot further even with the same tires I had on there.
