I want to know if the injector issue has carried over to the 06 Dmax? If so how many miles before failing?

How many miles have you got on the 06's?

8000 miles on my 06 LBZ and no problems. 1300 mile trip earlier this week with a 6000 lb trailer and around 400 miles with 15000 lbs today.. I think I trust it now. :)

Tom, I think they had it fixed on the LLY. I have only had 1 changed on an LLY in approx. 550,000 miles. Hopefully that will carry over to the LBZ!:)

Maybe they fixed it on the 2005 lly, but on the 2004.5 lly now way they fixed them. I had to get them all replaced. One at a time. I was totally pissed. They replaced one & you had to wait two weeks to get them form Bosch. Well the mechanical told me you will be back soon because another one is just over the good limits. He was right I was back in two week. That happened one more time. I finally called chevy & said replace them all now. I have three girls that I can not be strainded with in the cold here in MN. Guess what then they replaced all off them & no more problems with the injectors at least. I hope they fixed the problem on the LBZ.

370,000 on my two 04.5's and the one they changed was bad from the factory. From what I've heard here yours is an extreme exception to the rule. Sorry to hear about it.

One of the members here (haulin-rv) has over 100,000 miles on his LBZ and to my knowledge he's not reported any powertrain problems.

My truck has over 10,600 miles and ZERO problems.

Diesel-tech had one replaced early on, only on that I have heard of.

The 06' have different fuel injectors. I am sure they are at least updated to the new standards + they have seven holes instead of five. More pressure also.

* Maximum injection pressure increased from 23,000 psi to more than 26,000 psi
* Fuel delivered via higher-pressure pump, fuel rails, distribution lines and all-new, seven-hole fuel injectors

Rick,

To be fair I did have one of the first ones off the line & they later found out bosch had a bad lot of injectors. I was just mad that I had to go back three times & wait two to three weeks each time. I could not go ice fishing too because they gave me a loan car instead of a truck. When you have young kids it is really tought to break down with a brand new truck. Makes you wonder why I sold my 1993 chevy. I wish they would have just replaced all the ones right away that were reading close to bad rates. Oh well, it worked out anyways. Have a good one. I hope the problem have been solved for the lbz.

while on the injector topic, do any of you put additive in on a regular basis?

Nope!

I put additive in every tank. Get slightly better milage, prevents gelling in winter, and will add lubricity which I think is needed since the lower sulfer fuel is lacking. JMO.

Just under 13K no issues with injectors. CEL has come on and gone off 3 or 4 times. Just came on today and is staying on now. No modifications to truck.

Have you really got that many miles on your duramax? I didnt think they would last that long.

cowboytroy, 250,000 on one and 100,000 each on the other 3.:) Sorry, hope I did not mislead you. I have had 4 LLY's total. Check my sig.:) I expect the injector problems are mostly over.

It is not hard to put 100,000 a year if you are hauling rv's, horse trailers and such and work all year. I put 89,000 on mine last year in just over 9 mos. I made one run this year for 21 days and 15,000 miles. Last trip was 8240 miles in 15 days and this was a kind of leisurely trip compared to most.

I saw an 04 last fall that had over 400K on it.

Just because you don't see the high mile folks on here does not mean they are not out there. It just means they are working and most don't even know this or other forums exist and could careless about them.

I was just looking at my maint records and I have driven over 35K since 4/11/06 and I was out of service for at least 3 weeks during this period.

Since 1/3/06 I have driven 66,678 miles.

If there are no breakdowns or other hindrances the remainder of this year is going to get a lot more.

It don't take long when they are on the road and rolling for 10-11 hours a day.
