Used my 4x4 low for the first time this weekend. Had a trailer loaded with 1 yard of gravel (poor home made trailer) had to back it into my yard (very wet). Anyway if I put the tranny from reverse to park real fast (not moving obviously) the transfer case makes a grinding noise!? Did it several times just to make sure I was not crazy. No other problems other than the noise. Anyone ever had this happen? By the way 4x4 low is awsome, it idled the whole way in and out, never had to gas it and tear up the yard--course the wife was not happy about the ruts, but it was her landscaping project!

Sorry, from drive to park (like you normally put it in park real quick like) truck was not moving. In fact just went out on lunch and tried it again--sure enough there's the grinding noise. No noise in high just low, and it is very loud, don't think I gonna do it anymore--sounds scarey. Guess I'll put it in N then get out of low, then go to park! Think I should take it to the stealer so they can really screw it up?

Tried it again, does it from R to P if you do it real fast. Will put on my list of things to have the dealer check: so far, rattle in dash right in front of driver, very bad "chirping" noise from driver side rear door, and this transfer case noise. Compounded with the horrible bouncing ride this thing has, and terrible passing capability (turbo lag)--sure do miss my '98 gasser. But then again I wanted a diesel, and after only 7,000 miles in two months maybe I should give it a chance. Then again, sure do miss not having a payment. Mabe non related, but I really have had much more road rage in this thing.
