Hi,
I just bought a 05 crew cab (http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/autolink.php?id=29&script=showthread&forumid=41) with 43000 miles on it. Talked to orginal owner had the dealer run the vin through service to see if it had any problems nothing came up. Today while towing my boat 2300lbs it was purring along and then I changed interstates and went to accel and lost all power. Would not top 2000 rpms. I got in the elane for about 5 miles and gradually I had power return. After that at every slow down etc it would stall out like that again. If I accel real slowly it would seem to do better it would start this everytime it got to about 2000 rpms and wanted to shift gears. Based on what I have read on the forums I think I limped the tranny but I have NO warning lights nothing on the DIC etc. Some one had mentioned fixing or changing the spin on the tranny? What's that? Is this something I need to be really concerned about? ie ditch the truck?
The truck has no mods (although I thinking about a hypertech chip) with 265/75R16's.

Fuel filter. And a 1093 doesn't always set SES. It's fuel pressure low during fuel enrichment trouble code.

Think sideswiper is correct. Had a gasser that the fuel filter plugged up on, same symptoms as you detail. Also partially destroyed the fuel pump. and had to replace it also.

Thanks again all.
I just drove the truck again a few minutes ago after letting it set for few. It runs out great right now with out anything behind it.
The reason I thought of the tranny was because it engine never sounded like it missed a beat and it was having such a hard time changing gears. It would run smooth up to the point it needed to change gears. Anyway, I think I will change the tranny fluid just so I know when it was done, same with the fuel filter.

If the truck is NEW to you, it would probably be a good idea to change all the fluids and filters, piece of mind IMO.

Gary,

The "spin" on the tranny was likely the external spin-on transmission filter. It would not impact the symptoms you described, but as noted earlier, would be a good idea to go through all of your fluids and filters so you have a good starting point. Spend some time in the maintenance section on this forum, and you will have many good tips that can be completed by anyone with basic hand tools. Just stay away from the performance section unless you are already sitting good with your 401K retirement plan:)

Thanks again everyone. Yeah I am already working on getting a fuel filter and plan on changing the rest of the fluids tomorrow. I agree about the performance section:) ! I spend a lot of that $ on my Jeep to go play in. I bought the truck to pull it around with. Like I stated earlier I am already looking to put a chip in it.
