Hello,
This is my first time post. I recently installed a Kand N air intake kit into my 2002 chevy. Everything went smoothly until my service engine soon light came on. I checked the air flow sensor and it seems to be correctly secure. Do I need to reset the computer and if so how do I do it??? Thanks for any input.

I installed a CAI with a K&N filter and no light came on. Sure you didn't bump a electrical connection by accident when you installed it;)

You didn't put too much oil on the filter did ya? I made this mistake, it got crap all over the MAF sensor... They sell MAF cleaner at NAPA.. quick fix.
I had the same CEL come on, so I thought it might work for you.

An oily MAF will trip the CEC light. Squid is probably right.
My 2cents is you should have stayed with the stock intake and filter.
I installed the K&N filter recently (not the whole intake kit) and have experienced sizeable mpg gains. Definately worth it for me.

Installed a K/N REPLACEMENT filter on my truck once.Stock filter had 22,000 miles at the time,no noticeable increase in performance or fuel mileage.

SPICER's filter study results spoke for themselves:

be careful with K & N filter, it let too much air in and not enough to filter the dirt out.
if you drive in a dusty condition, replace it with a better after market or stick with stock.
I took my K & N out and replaced it with AFE proguard
try wiping the inside part of the air filter tubing with white cloth and see if it's clean.
hope this helps

Don't believe everything you read on the internet.
K&N's work great and filter very well. You probably got oil residue on the MAF. Get some spray electrical contact cleaner, clean your MAF, reset the SES and don't over oil the K&N when you clean it. I've got two filters so when I clean one I can let it set and dry for awhile.
Good luck,
Chris

Or don't believe all the K&N marketing hype you read.
I would try the MAF cleaner. I need to use it too to see if it will clear up my P0101 code.
