well you all I finally got my 93 C3500 back from the the engine rebuilder and did they do me right. They put in a 506 block for $100 more (most engine rebuilders wanted $300-400 more) they installed all of my upgrades and didn't charge me extra (JK's cooling upgrade,Bill's clutch upgrade and also the turbo-master boost control) they gave me a 12 month unlimited mileage parts and labor on the engine. If anyone in Illinois or the surrounding area ever needs an engine these are the people to get they only rebuild 6.5 and the other brand 7.3. This truck runs like a scolded ape. i would also like to thank JK and Bill for getting all of the parts to me on time given some where short notice.

Could you post more info--name, number, and cost of the rebuild?
Thanks,
Tony

I guess it is OK to put the companies name on this thread it is Johnson Motors in Harrisburg IL. Before I bought the engine I went to see his manufacturing process all top of the line and modern manufacture process they balance all of their engines and Dyno them before they sale them. The price for the engine was $3700 and to install was a another $650 I needed a new Radiator that was another $300 taxes and incidentals the total came to $4950 if the engine breaks down anywhere they pay going rate to fix it up to $50 an hour but will work with and the mechanic to get you on the road. And the other reason i went with them it didn't matter what the core condition was so all in all I so far satisfied with it ( I only have 700 miles on it) so time will tell. Here is what is now on my C3500 a 4" exhaust dual thermostat upgrade solid mass flywheel and clutch and turbo-master boost control. Future upgrades include water intercooler system guages and I am going to do the JK's airbox mods I hope that will help pull my 32 Foot Avon when i retire. As for as i know the 506 block is the 1999-2000 year block they did some upgrades to it which make it a better block not a bored out 6.5

506 sounds like an block casting code not an indication of cubic inches. Getting 506 inches out of the 395 would require a high stroke custom crank and extreme boring.
