It's fairly easy to take off. 4-5 bolts Then spray it out w/ carburator cleaner. About 2 cans. Just be mindful on the driver's side there's a wiring bracket plate that goes on top of the manifold then the bolt goes thru it.

I just installed the blocker plate today also. What a horror show I had here. :banghead: First, I could not get the nuts off. I thought surely it would be easier than what everyone said. I was wrong, I ended up climbing up on the top of the engine just like others had said, and then they broke loose. Then I could not get the plate all the way in. Took me quite a while to figure out that the factory gasket was getting caught on the plate underneath and keeping it from going in all the way. I must have spent an hour prying and pushing etc. I have big hands which did not help either. Oh, I also lost one of the nuts which I never found :damnit1: I am an experienced mechanic, but it was one of those days. Anyhow, I got it done and cleared codes and so far no light. I have the finger stick but don't plan on installing unless I get a light. Thanks for letting me

cleaning the EGR will do no good, that same soot is all the way through the intake manifolds and heads as well.
