OK guys so i think its finnally time to put a new high performance tranny in the dmaxx. . .
Its a 2003 lb7 with banks six gun and speedloader, bullydog adjustable propane kit, banks ram air, dual 5 inch exhaust with no mufflers or cats, transgo shift kit, banks intercooler, it has a 6 inch lift with 35s. I dont tow much just my 22 ft ski boat but i do like to smoke the ricers and hit the mud and trails (as im sure we all do!!!:ro) )
Im sure this topic has been covered 10000000 times but as i said im new to this i did a quick search and didnt find what i really wanted,
Im pretty sure that the 2 big names are ATS and SUNCOAST but not sure which one would be for me? I saw that bullydog came out with a new tranny also which might be a alright deal for me since i can get them wholesale through www.4wheelparts.com (http://www.4wheelparts.com) (im a dealer so let me know if i can get you something)
I dont really know how these tranny swaps/kits work. . . do you send them your tranny and they rebuild it? or do you get a brand new trans? I want to make sure i get a new torque converter along with whatever i end up doing. I live in minnesota right outside of the twin cities and go to college in colorado (so if i find someone inbetween there where they could sell me a tranny and put it in would be a good option)
I want a tranny that wont break and will be able to take the abuse of a 19 year old--as my dad says "we were all 19 once"
one question comes to my mind when looking at these tranns such as when it says "core charge" what is meant by that? is that money you have to pay or money they pay you for your old tranny? I know i know its a stupid question but as i said ive never had to do tranny work and dont really want to do my first one to be with a high performance dmaxx
So i could really need you guys help!!!
Hopefully we have some dealers on this site that can help me out with a good tranny at a good price.
thanks a lot everyone!!!!
This site is great and since ive been a memeber i cant get enough of it!!!!!!
thanks again
BRAD
