On the road all the time lately. 12,000 miles in the last three weeks with both a New Jersey and Florida trip next week.
Here's pretty much what I look like when transporting. Wave, chat at the Flying J's or call me on the cb. Runnin' fine so far.

Where in Florida are you going to be? Anywhere near Tallahassee?

Fireman & Hoot,
The Florida delivery is in Lake City, Thursday afternoon (27th). I think it is to one of their fire stations. That's close to you but I need to go to my house on Tampa Bay and sort things out with my deed. Selling that place and they have the wrong address filed in the tax office. I will have some time as I'm not heading back north until after Memorial Day.
The New Jersey delivery was 'forced' on me when I was delivering in Nevada Thursday. I do not know where it is. Will be at the shop around 8 AM tomorow (24th)to pick up. Then I will know exactly where it's going. Hope to be back near Pgh. Monday night but may hold over until Tuesday. Can't stay long as I must do house/truck work and be on the road south Wednesday.

I'm jealous! The 300-600 mile round trips I do almost every day are always to the same places, & Midwest scenery gets pretty boring. Sounds like you get to see a lot more of the country. Let me know if you need a back-up hauler.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Wink.gif
You can't beat a Flying J travel plaza for a pit-stop, either.

Deadfurrow,
Read my posting in the trailer-towing section. It better describes life 'on the road'. I mostly fuel at Flying J's because of the 'free' showers and drinks as rewards. Their food sucks, it's slow service and expensive. They do have RV fuel islands while most others do not. Parking is almost always a problem and safety can/has been an issue. I carry a gun. (Watch that raise eyebrows) There are many 'lot lizards' and beggers around the stops. So far so good.
After a while all things get old.

captainmal,
I read your other post. Very interesting. I guess I can put up with boring since I'm getting $0.78 BOTH ways + fuel surcharges. And 95% of that is just payload, not towing, so my fuel mileage stays pretty high + a lot less wear & tear on the truck.
Nice to know you're not a "lot lizard" kind of guy, & I agree, always pack your side-arm.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Shocked.gif
Safe travels.
