My buddy has a 04 cc 4x4 LB7 that is currently in "Limp Mode" he was driving on the 15 and stopped to get gas he put in 5 gallons (of diesel) and he drove about 4 miles and the truck loss power and wont rev over 2000 rpm. He pulled codes(P0090 , P0193, P0201, P2146) He has checked them and they all have to do with the fuel (Fuel pressure sensor, fuel injector, ect.) Has anyyone had this problem before? he bought the truck with 70,000 on the clock is this common? any help will be greatly appreciated

thank you in advance

Can anyone let me knw the location of the fuel filter?

sounds like a TSB issue...tell him to take it to a dealership...if his injectors have never been replaced, the dealership should cover it even out of warranty...when was the last time he changed his fuel filter?

When is the last time he changed his fuel filter? How low was his tank? I would change the fuel filter first before taking it to the dealer. You could also try and drain the filter to see if there is any water in it. IIRC water in fuel sensors sometimes don't work. This is the 2 quick/easy options

The fuel filter is located under the hood on the passenger side near the A/C accumulator.

It'll be white with a wire plugged under it.

If ya'll have never changed one it may be easier to get to it through the fender well on that side.

and be sure to fill the fuel filter with tranny fluid before install it otherwise you'll never get it started...

ummmmm...:badidea: .i hope to heck youre joking.... DO NOT do that.

to change the filter take the battery out or the fender well, get you a strap wrench, mine is a chain that can be adjusted. unhook the water in fuel sensor (it clips). spin the filter off. make sure gasket came off with it (oring). take the plastic water in fuel sensor out (be careful). replace o ring on that and reinstall, put new o ring on new filter and reinstall. then loosen the black plastic bleed screw and pump the pump on top til fuel comes out. tighten it back (dont muscle it or youll strip it) then pump the pump til you cant even move it. truck should fire right back up.

You have to prime the system.....I would not put tranny fluid in the filter. If warranty issues came up....you would be screwed. There is a bleeder screw next to the silver prime pump. Loosen the screw and pump 30-50 times until straight diesel comes out. I personally just put the new filter on, start the truck and let it die, then I bleed the air out. There is a thread in the DIY section that has pictures and everything to help you do this swap quick and easy.

I am very serious and was not kidding...by filling your fuel filter with tranny fluid during a change you'll acheive two things...one, you'll replace the lost fluid needing the prime the system easily; two, you'll clean and lubricate your injectors. Look it up...as far as warranty issues go, I have 145,000 on my LB7, I don't think I'll be using any warranty any time soon...except for the 200,000 mile injector warranty...but they're fine for now...
