How can I tell if my father in-law has a 600 in his truck ? Also what is the hp & tq of the 600 and pre 600 Cummings ?

You can tell if it is a 600 series motor by looking at the engine block cover (plastic) from the drivers side. There is a sticker that tells you the HP/TQ ratings along with firing sequences. The window sticker when I bought mine said "Cummins 600" on it also. The 600 series motor was installed on 2004.5 and beyond Dodge trucks. Build date 01-14-04 and further on have the 600 motor.
