Just wondering if anyone has had any warranty problems with GM because of 4" exhaust systems?

I have had no problems of any kind with my Duramax but since the installation of a 4" exhaust is permanent and obvious I am curious about any dealer warranty issues.

Thanks for your input.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif

Only if it has to do with the exhaust itself. Never even herd of one single problem though. Super Diesel

It would be real hard for them to prove that an 4" open exhaust that lowers the exhaust gas temperature caused your truck to over heathttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif But I wouldn`t be surprised to see them try.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

Hey, Bigchev. The shop foreman at my dealer said the exhaust would help the upper part of the motor. Reduce pressure. No warranty issues.
However.... any performance boxes, or modules would void the warranty.

But make sure you keep the stock pipe. This way you can put it back on if there is a problem so they can trouble shoot.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

bigchev,

So long as you keep the converter in place if it was originially equipped with one there shouldn't be any warranty questions from a dealer. You notice I say shouldn't, I have had dealers tell customers not to get exhaust as it "will increase temps of the engine" completely dumb but what has been told to owners in the past etc. As always clal us if you have any quetions etc and we wil be glad to help.
