Trying to do some tweaking on a 2004.5 LLY. Everytime I try to read the stock program it starts the process and gets to 4 or 8K and then just sets there. I tried it also with the Allison and it does the same thing, gets to 4K and just sits there. Any ideas? Have had no issues with other LLY's or LB7's but I don't do too much of this. I tried another truck directly after without any issues.

Thanks

Aftermarket radio or dvd player? - mine wouldn't read until I puilled that fuse. Others have had similar issues.

Does the truck have an aftermarket audio or video adapter. PAC interface devices have caused bus communication issues for some.

Have you performed a test?

Is EFILive at the latest greatest release?

Latest EFI release, it does have an aftermarket DVD, gonna pull that fuse and let you know.

Thanks

Make sure you have the latest USB driver installed, and switch USB ports on your notebook or try another computer. I had the same thing happen with my Dell Notebook, some ports will work, and others won't.

Also make sure the LLY PCM is selected in the download window.

It's O.K Pat, if you select the wrong engine type the ECM will not accept it anyway, you will get a message saying the ECM did not accept the bootloader.

make sure you batteries are good, if you have low voltage it will do that. put a charger on it if you are not sure. make sure all systems are off, i.e. lights, hvac ( heating and air) aftermarket power drains, and the trailer if you have the power lead fuse in.

I think we almost need to start to gather up a collection of aftermarket entertainment gear that causes problems. As you guys know, if everything is stock GM then fuse pulling isn't needed, but all these aftermarket things seem to be causing more problems than I like! It would be nice to at least get a list of problem devices and we can try to contact the companies who make them and request the info from them to make this all work (if possible), one has already told us there is nothing that can be done apart from removing the fuse.
Interestingly, there are some audio devices out there that will not even let TechII scan correctly!!, GM dealers must hate all this stuff!.

Cheers,
Ross

FWIW, I have a kenwood head unit and a viper autostart/alarm and I don't seem to have any problems with pulling fuses, although the only way I know this is because I forgot to do it a couple times... I try to pull the fuses anyway. I ALWAYS hit the parking brake, keep the doors closed and I don't touch anything when it is accessing the ECM.
