Hey Guys,
I just got my 04' LLY Crew lifted with 35" tires.
I'm really surprised at the loss of power (and economy). The truck isn't a slug by any means, but I really have to give it some pedal to get it up to freeway speeds. Before the bigger tires, it would just run up to 70, now it kinda jogs....
They did unhook my battery when they installed the lift and I was thinking that my computer would just need to re-program itself and the power would come back...
It's been a week and nada so far....
I'm also wondering if the Edge for the LB7 was able to correct the speedo for tire size up to 35" (315 I beleive)?
I'm not totally dissapointed as I'm sure when the new edge is released I'll have more power than I'll ever need. I'm just surprised that these wheels had such an impact on my torque.
Thoughts?

Gato Gordo I have asked alot of people running larger tires and they have all said it runs just fine but I think most of them were also running a programmer. It doesn't surprise me you lost a noticalbe amount of performance but what type of mileage are you getting now?

that's what happens when you get bigger tires.. unfortunately there is no free lunch.. extra power or re-gearing would help your problem. your computer won't reprogram itself... stay tuned as LLY products are still new/unrealsed to the market.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the feedback. I'm not shocked by the change in power, but a little surprised.
With all the torque the dmax has, I wasn't expecting much of a difference.
I'm just going to wait and see what the edge does for me before I worry about gears and stuff.
I just wish they'd hurry up with the new EDGE!

I've noticed a difference with 285's spooned onto my stock rims.
I'm looking forward to the edge setup asap.

I also noticed a slight power & mpg loss. However, keep in mind that it is deceiving. With my hand held GPS, I checked the actual speeds and at an indicated 62 mph I am going 70 mph. Don't look at your speedo to judge speed.

cadent44, what size tires are you running to get that error?

I'm running some huge meats at 365/65-16 and the rolling resistance is significant. I can feel them holding me back going down hill. The width change will hit the economy more than the height. 245 to 315 is nearly a 30% increase in width. Tall hard tires are supposed to be the more energy efficient anyway (ala 10-speed tires)
