How long do the "stocker" batteries tend to last in these trucks? I have noticed that since it is getting colder, my batteries tend to be a little weaker on the first start up in the A.M. I noticed last winter late in the season that they seemed to struggle with the engine was first cranked. What is a good replacement for the stock batteries? Are those Optima deep cell batteries good?

Optimas are sweet and don't leak like the Delcos tend to do. I still question the need for yellow tops instead of red tops.
Anyway, if you get 2 years out of the Delcos, consider yourself lucky...

The Delco in my s-10 lasted about 2 years before the pos terminal broke off..... My sis in law has a 01 and it quit the same time my 00 didhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif go figure! I run a red top in my sand rail and have never had an issue with it! Costco seams to be the best place for them 100 bucks out the door!Edited by: Atrzes
