My truck arrived at the dealer today. It is a summit white, D/A LT loaded. Should be picking it up tomorrow. Many thanks for all the info I have learned on this board and especially big thanks to NassDmax for the cert. What should I look for or have them do before I pick it up? I think I read the diff fluid or something but I was not sure if that was when new. Also how do I make sure it has the LLY? Thanks again for everything. Now to hunt for wheels and tires and to wait patiently for a chip.

Have them check the rear differential fluid ( it has been low on most trucks right from the manufacturer ).


To verify it has the LLY check you VIN # eight digit, a 1= an LB7 engine, 2= an LLY engine. You can also check the line setting ticket posted inside the glove compartment with all other options the truck was built with. There you will find either a LLY OR LB7 code for engine designation. If this is a new truck you had ordered it should be the new LLY engine as the production of these engines went into full swing right around the first of the year if I remember correctly.
