Hi people i am needing advice. I have a GMC C10 stepside 1982 6.2 diesel problem is according to build sheet it should have a 700 r4 autobox but it has a thm 350 which was fitted in san jose where truck came from now it is in scotland where GMC experts are thin on the ground. Now when box was changed was propshaft changed to suit 350 box i would like to return to a 700 r4 so will i have to get a propshaft as well or will the one on truck fit okay and does anyone know if there will be any problems doing the swapover hope you guys can help.. George.

The 700 is longer than the short tail 350 and shorter than the longtail 350. It is the same yolk and spline, however.

So if 700r4 taken off truck and 350 put on truck would the propshaft be too long or short.. George

Both short and long tail 350s were used in trucks. Without knowing what you have, I can't answer the driveshaft question. However, no matter which one it is, the length is different, so the shaft will have to be modified.
