Try looking at the Reese/Draw-tite straight line hitches.

Quite a bit of it depends on what kind of trailer you have. I have a huge I-beam on my deckover and the Equalizer hitch was the the only one that really fit the bill. It has been exceptional and the company was great to work with. They even machined me some custom WD bar mounts that no other hitch company wanted to deal with.

I think their style hitch really does a great job dealing with sway and you don't need a goofy cam-style setup.

Went from Eaz-lift 1000/10,000 with friction sway bar and GM OEM hitch receiver to an Equal-i-zer 1400/14,000 and Putnam XDR hitch receiver. Not only more stable tow, easier to distribute weight to front axles. Gnarly thread on rv.net (towing) showing separated GM OEM pin box failure/accident.

I did the exact same thing as Duramaxdoc. The Equal-I-Zer, to me, is the best bang for the buck. Great weight distribution, no sway, almost 90* turning and very stable under the worst conditions.

You could always check out the Hensley Arrow, if you have an extra $3500 sitting around:cool: But it is the best of the best, though.

The eq-ua-lizer hitch is old technology. It has been around for 30+ years. The absolute best EQ hitch on the market is the Reese/Draw-tite Dual Cam system. It is a proactive sway control as well as self-centering. Definately the way to go. -Jeff

I like the Huskys Real similar to Draw-Tite/Reese/

Not sure why their round bar setup is rated at 1200/12,000 as its the same size stuff(I read all V-5 Htch stuff is tested to 30,000 Lbs.)

I also have a 1200/12000 lb Draw Tite Trunnion setup with the dual sway head.

Honestly, if 1 sway control set at a light setting cant handle a 45 MPH crosswind, you're setup might be wrong.

I can push the front end with one tight sway control when turning in parking lots. It wants to go straight.
