: Changed seats air bag lights on?

So i changed the seats in a friends truck and now the airbag light is on. I guess he had the airbag sensor in his driver's seat and now the new one doesnt i need help!!! Im pretty sure u just have to jump out a few wires i just dont know which ones. Thanks ahead of time

what kind of truck, crew cab, extended cab, 1500, 2500, what year, what truck did you swap the seats into, did the vehicel have side impact airbags etc...

need some more info..

The light duty's have the whole PSS/passenger sensing system. If the proper passenger seat isnt installed, you are going to get the airbag light and the entire SIR system will be DISABLED. I do not reccomend jumping wires....the SIR SDM looks to the PSS and needs data/special signals from it. If you jump wires the SIR SDM will not respond and you'll still get the airbag light.

You cannot jump the wires. You must put a seat in with a passenger presence system and associated harness. Jumpering it could be dangerous and pop the bags or damage the system.
