Quick synopsis.
2003 D/A LS with DIC/Steering wheel controls.
Hasn't been driven in a week. Go to truck yesterday and notice the theftlock light is very dimly illuminated. Light works fine in start-up test and when truck is locked.
But unlocked and just sitting, running or not, its illuminated dimly. Please tell me I dont have a big problem. I guess I can live with it being on, but I dont want something bad or worse to happen.
Thanks for any insight in advance.

Couldn't tell you on yours, But I lost my keys once and when the locksmith pulled the cylinder he messed up the "key out" features. I ended up pulling it myself to see if I could see anything wrong and when I put it back together it was lit up. I drove around for about 3 months like this until yesterday. I installed a Hypertech tune and when it was done uploading it was off. My key outs are still messed up but at least its off.

Sounds like an internal fault in your instrument cluster, basicly all the lights are turned on with class 2 data commands,
I've had quite a few trailblazers that have the battery light or low fuel light lit dimly. A new cluster has fixed each of them.

Yay! This will be the 4th cluster to go in the truck. GM fixed the previous 3 under warranty. I wonder if they would honor this even though its out out warranty?

Is replacement my only option? Anyone else have any insight?

have the dealer check for any VTD (vehicle theft deterrent, its in teh body section on the tech 2) codes...
if there are no codes, welcome to the wonderful world of 03+ GMT-800 instrument clusters :D
EDIT: nevermind looks like you already know about the 03+ clusters ):h

I agree likely a faulty cluster. If you have to replace it on your dime DO NOT buy from a GM dealer. They can be had or repaired for much cheaper.
