The 2000 is hard to find info on, but heard they make about 30 psi. The 5000 is lots bigger and depending on fuel your looking at anywhere between low 50s to somewhere in the 70s psi.

Here's a link to the Aurora Turbo website:
http://www.atsdiesel.com/ATSWebsite/ProductsGM/TurboSystems.asp

They have a description on their website that tells the difference between the Aurora 2000 and 5000 for the Duramax Diesels. Hope that helps.
There are a few guys here on dieselplace that know all the differences between the 2 turbos. Read the forum "Aurora Turbo System on LBZ".
Some of your questions might be answered there.

I can give you some specs on them but not what boost they will make. That depends on your fueling.

The A5k has a 71mm inducer 104mm exducer (compressor)
I dont remember the exact dimensions of the turbine side but it's roughly 3.30 inducer and 3.00 exducer.

The A2k has a 58mm inducer ( I dont remember the exducer of the compressor)
The turbine side is 2.89 inducer and 2.54 exducer.
It's about the same as a stock S300 schwitzer without the wastegate

The stock turbo compressor is around 60mm. The stock turbine side depends on the truck but I think the LB7 turbo is 2.5x" inducer by 2.2x exducer

So how are the guys running the Aurora in the Street class, when it has an inducer limit of 2.8 inches?

71mm is 2.79"

Sorry I missed that the 3.30 was for the turbine side. I didn't see the 71mm compressor inducer.

so the inducer on the a2k is smaller than our stock charger
than how much more effecient is the a2k than our stock one

greek to me as well. I have the Aurora 2k and love it. doesn't fall off at higher boost like the stock VVT.

how do you get around the overboost codes when running an a5k??? custom programming??

Nut, just unplug the MAF. What year is your truck?

Be careful with your Aurora. With big tunes, you have to feather out of it, or it'll bark like a dog.

Yeah, I'm telling Nut to be careful....whatever ):h ):h ):h

On an 01, going MAFless should be ok. With some programming, there are no codes.

Is that because there is no Wastegate or BOV ? i talked to a local diesel shop and they said that if the turbo is set up with no wastegate or bov that it will just keep building boost and blow then engine and ****. My friend is lookin at puttin a aurora 2000 on his LLY and wants to know if its safe and worth it. ATS claims it will lower EGT's is this true? any other mods he should do along with the turbo for safety?

does anyone have any pics of the filter setup they are running with this turbo.

No, turbo bark is from the lack of drive pressure when you suddenly let off the throttle. It happens more easily when you're driving a charger that is at the upper limits of what the engine can spool....you're always close to the surge line, which is the CFM needed to keep it spooled. Drop below that CFM and the boost pressure tries to reverse the direction of the impeller shaft, and ....woof woof woof.....and hopefully no "bang".

A wastegate actually relieves pressure on the turbine side. You could probably bark a large charger by opening the wastegate suddenly under boost.

A blow off valve releases pressure on the compressor side, usually used with gassers that have a boost limit before the onset of detonation - from either too hot a charge temp, or just too much pressure period.

A BOV could help prevent surge, because it takes some of the pressure off the compressor side, but most people don't think of it as a turbo-saver, just an engine-saver.

Nut, my AFE stage II fits right up to the boot supplied with the A5k. Mine's the old skool discontinued metal tube. Dunno if the revised plastic one is exactly the same, but I imagine it probably is. Send a PM to Ibdmaxin (Wade), he should know for sure.

I have the new plastic tube from AFE on mine. Everything concerning the filter bolted and lined up good. Mat just curious, but what kind of mods do you have done to your A5K?

Oh, there he is again, staring me down

John, I had to put a smaller turbine housing on to meet the FPP 3.050" turbine exducer rule.

We put a wastegated housing on it but have had zero time to fiddle with it, although I would very much like to get it to a dyno to play with it. Now that pulling season is winding down, I should be able to tinker. It's been bolted shut all summer.
