I have 2004 LLY and have a cracking noise when opening the drivers door, from the inside or out side. Two distinct crack/clunk noises. It seems to come fron the door position stops but cannot seem to fix it. Other doors do not do this. Any fix for the noise??

Mine does it or I should say did it. The '96 Suburban I had did the same thing. It usually happened when the door was more or less flung open. (I usually am much more careful about opening and closing them, but it happens.) Upon inspecting the hinges I noticed the noise appeared to be coming from the top hinge and that there was some evidence of wear--metal to metal scuffing. One shot of spray on grease--problem solved.
I cringed at the sound of that creaking considering how much money these vehicles cost!</DIV>

I just got my 04 out of the dealer for the exact same thing it was only on the drivers door some kind of plastic link? They warrantied it no problem http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
