Where is the vacuum pump located on a 1983 6.2 liter engine.

The oil pump is located in one of two places. It could be belt driven, in which case it would be located on the front of the engine driven off one of the drive belts (sorry, I don't remember which one... Should be pretty easy to find anyway).

It could also be gear driven, in which case it would be on top of the engine in the back (you will have to remove the air cleaner to see it). In this case the same shaft drives the oil pump so do not run the engine with the pump removed.
