I have a friend who has been having major injector problems and the dealer wants to just replace one injector. I believe that they are supposed to change all 8 out but they insist that they only change one at a time. Is there a TSB or any kind of service buliten that I can print out to show the dealership that they are supposed to change all 8?

The service at this dealership seems to be pretty bad... does anyone have a link to the procedure for checking injector balances and other injector problems?

Thanks for the help.

Yes there is a SB for replacing all eight injectors on the LB7 engine if one is found bad, but not for the LLY engine.

Check the TSB section, IIRC there is a copy of that somewhere and I think that's where it is.

Zeeb, I had it bookmarked so it was easy to find. Looks like we were both posting at the same time. I have a LB7 so might need it soon.

Well took it in today and pulled the 0093 code. The truck has no power what soever... it will hardly accelerate. The dealer kept insisting that they only change one injector at a time again today, untill I handed them the service builiten. Even after I did that and the tech looked it up and saw the matching code he said he thinks its just bad fuel and he was going to drop the tank drain the fuel and change the fuel filterhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif. Sadly if my friend wouldn't have asked me for my help he would have gotten ripped off. I'm gonna make shure the delership does the right thing. Thanks for the link guys.

tech should be shot. but if they tested the fuel and the api is not in range the p0093 code could occour.I knoe for a fact gas in diesel will cause a p0093 code.

Well I think they went through all the trouble of dropping the tank and draining the fuel and changing the fuel filter. Afterwards the code 0093 imidiatly lit up the dash light and the truck drove like crap. So 8 injectors are on order as of this afternoon. Sad thing is that if my friend would not have gotten me involved he would have gotten screwed. He only had 5000 miles of waranty left and the delership had been brushing him off for a month already. He should be golden now though. Thanks for the help.

Horace,

I was wondering if you could tell us where this dealer is (Texas is a big place!) Sure sounds like one to avoid!
