I just had to post this for you guys.
I just dropped off my truck at the dealer's in Findlay, OH for some bedliner repair, hood dimple fix, and a tranny flush and Transynd fill.
Anywho, I run into my salesman who tells me that they have a brand new LLY ext cab SB clone of my truck in the back.
Sooo, as we are walking out back of the service department so he can show me this truck, he tells me the story...
This dealership is at the bottom of an intown overpass that crosses a RR track. This overpass has quite a grade and in theory, if you didn't turn left or right, you would end up right in the middle of this dealer's new car lot.
The story goes that a teenage kid last Friday failed to make that decision, (and was going at a pretty good clip too), and took out 2 cars and 3 trucks. The fifth one was the D/A in question.
The kid hit them so hard that the back bumper of the Dmax was trashed when it got shoved into a light pole. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Shocked.gif
When we get to the truck, I just about fainted. The back bumper is mangled and the right fender, hood, and grill is toast. The tranny cooler has a 45 in it the AC condenser is bent and the After cooler has some skin taken off.
He told me they were going to fix it but now just want to move it off the lot.
I'm hearing mid 20's for a brand new 42K truck.
Of course, this is a fixer-upper and will require about $2000.00 in dealer cost parts. The salesman said the estimate was $8000.00 by the body shop. I told him more like 10.
