ok guys My brother is buying my PSD. I've looked at the dodge's and the fords, but my eyes are set on a 2006 d-max. My brother can get Employee pricing from his job at UPS. I plan on Putting about 10% down on the truck. What and how should I order my truck. i've been to 3 different chevy dealers and they don't have what I want. I'm sorry but I'm just the kind of person that feels I'm paying 40g's+ I want what I like, or I'll never be happy. All I want is the 4x4, crew cab, short box. I want leather and a CD player. No XM because I plan on doing a little bit of stero to it. Also no sunroof. I also hate the look of the plastic fender flares. And I would like a set of the n-bars.

This truck is not going to be used for work. It's gana be a more street/ show truck. I plan on doing a nice set of rims and tires, but not lift. And a summit Exhaust, thats it.

p.s I'm looking for either a blue Granite Metallic or black truck. With the Dark charcoal leather.

what kind of package should I get, LT2 or 1. I'm not geting 3 becuase I don't want the sun roof or dvd.

So what do you guys recomend I should do? look around or just order what I want. I don't mind waiting for the truck if I order it.

:help:

I went from my 2005 PSD to a 2006 LBZ. I always wore a frown on my face but now i can do nothing but smile :D

for leather you need LT3 IIRC...

LT3 does not automatically come with sunroof or DVD.

LT3 is basically:
console
auto climate control
Bose stereo
leather
heated 12 way memory seats
steering wheel controls
push button 4x4

sunroof and dvd are options you CAN add on top of an LT3 package; they are not mandatory.

I understand what you mean about spending 40K on a truck, and of course you expect to get the exact otions and truck you want. I feel the same way as you.
If you don't find what you want in the '06 model, you always have the option of the 2007 "Classic" Duramax which is exactly the same as the 06. The '07 "Classic" truck WONT have all the emmissions crap that the 2007 truck will, which is built after Jan 1st 2007. The price is the same too, only difference is that you dont have as good of rebates as the current 2006's have.

I'm currently debating over getting a 2006 equipped with almost everything I want (and stuff I don't want...like $1145 for OnStar, $450 for nerf bars when I can get 'em cheaper from Summit Racing Equipment, $200 for aluminum wheels that'll be replaced for ones that look nicer). Equipped the way I want, a 2007 Silverado LT2 would be about $1200 more than the 2006 a local dealer has. This is with the GMID price and rebates. The '06 at the dealer is in Blue Granite but I'd prefer White, Grey or Black and it doesn't have the camper mirrors and the 5th wheel wiring. So I'm going crazy trying to decide on getting an '06 with a $3,000 rebate, or an '07 with a $1,500 rebate. An '07 LT1 comes out to be about $96 cheaper than the '06 but I want the bucket seats and center console and I don't think the LT1 offers that so I'd have to go for an LT2.
