Whats the easiest way to be able to raise boost a lil without the SES light commin on. And something that wont cost to much and is not to hard for a begining wrencher? U guys are awesome btw!

or a 3 bar map

a 10k pot on the map sensor. tricks the ecm into allowing more boost. bought a 10k pot for only like $4 from radio shack.

whats a 3bar map?? I cant really understand that wireing diagram hahah how exactly do u wire it up?? Does anyone have any realpics of it?

Read this thread on the 10K pot. I learned a ton. Let me repeat what these fine folk taught me:

1. You need gauges (boost, pyrometer, at minimum).
2. Before adding boost...you need to increase air flow. That means.
A. A better air intake.
B. A free flowing exhaust. Start with a down pipe if you are low budget.
3. Now you can think about boost.

I just read you have the mechanical wastegate controller from Heath. You're out of luck. The 10K pot only works if you have the OEM wastegate controller.

so if u have that there is no way unless u reflash or get a performance pcm?

How much boost do you currently have and what are you attempting to get?

Since you already have the mech. wastegate controller, you may want see if you have an exhaust leak. I found that three of the nuts that hold the turbo on the exhaust manifold were missing. I will find out tomm. if it has affected my boost at all.
