I hope this is the right place to ask..
I have a new 06 3500 C.C D.A Dually and it is supposed to have the block heater.
I cant seem to find it ( the plug end )
I found it on my 03 with out any problem but cant seem to locate it on my 06
Any one got the answer?
Maybe a picture of it unwraped under the hood?
Where do you exit it out at?
I tied my other one off to the right side tow hook ....
I dont need it yet but would rather get it stretched out now while it is warm. ):h
Thanks
Paul :ro)

Look for the plug to be tie wrapped in a bundle near the second battery (passenger side near firewall).. The cord is right there.. stupid place for it.. there is a plastic cover over the plug end.

I found mine too and it's actually a lot better place for it than way down below where it was on older models. Easier to unwrap and route where needed.

Here is a question...when I bought my truck it was a $55 option for a block heater. I did not get that option. However, when I looked under the hood the plug was there. Is GM trying to make a quick $55?

aci think the option is only for the gassers . the diesel comes with it

I personally don't like the idea of having to take off a wheel well to get to a simple cord. GM couldn't spend an extra few minutes to route these cords for us??

Found a post of mine to a different thread...
Usually a winterfront cover for the grill will do the trick... however if you need a little more heat in the AM the block heater cord is located right behind the passanger wheel well. The best (and prob only way) to acces this is to remove the wheel well. Simply remove the push studs and the wheel well should come right off. You will find ther cord raveled up, taped, and zip tied along with the vehicle engine harness. You need to re-route the cord to the front of the vehicle. Unfortunately the cord is short... real short. If you route it just right you can get it to the passanger side vehicle tow hook. Use the cap from the cord to hook areound the tow hook and it will hold nicely (almost like it was meant to be there ;) )
... anyhow hope that helps you. Just make sure that you don't plug it in unless its COLD. My LBZ (http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/autolink.php?id=22&script=showthread&forumid=140)'s been known to throw a code or two because it was too warm to plug it in.
If you need pics or other info just PM (http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/autolink.php?id=90&script=showthread&forumid=140) me... i catalog everything i do to my truck :D
