Lookin to upgrade my tie-rods and am a little leary about using any of the upgrades with the Heim joints. I'm looking at the SD tie-rod sleeves or the Fabtech tie-rods. My question is do any of you know if I am going to have any trouble using the Fabtech tie-rods with the Cognito knuckles? I called Fabtech and they didn't really have an answer for me. Thanks.

Unless your Cognito knuckles are interfering with your tierods now, I don't see how the Fabtech rods would be any different.

The Fabtech rods are about an inch and a half in diameter, so check the stock ones for clearance. If you have plenty of clearance, then go for it. My Fabtech rods works great.

I for one will never buy anthing Fabtech again(customer service was bad). As far as the tie-rods I've had three replaced within a year. 1st. time one was loose inside the socket and the last two times the boots tore.

You had the boots tear on yah? What were you doing when it happened? Or did they fall apart?

I have them and they are wonderful, They fit just like stock units with a tapered pin .

Well, I ended up buying the Fabtech tierods and I've already got them installed. My truck see's a lot of dirt and doesn't get babied at all so we'll see how well they hold up. The only issue I've got with them so far is the clamps that hold the boot on the centerlink end of the tie rods look pretty cheesy.

I have had mine for about a year now and no boot tears or any other issues to speak of. Good product.
