Hey guys I was just wondering, what kind of alarms all if you are using? The vipper alarms seem popular.

I've got a Clifford alarm with remote start in mine. $750 installed at a local dealer.

I LOVE IT.

It's the Clifford Matrix RSX 3.5 (p/n 919564)
2-Way Security System / Remote Start System with Responder Technology.

Astrostart from max power

i would have to agree although i did not purchase from him
he did help me with the wait to start wire to hook to the glow plugs
the place that i got my alarm installed at said that there is no way you can hook up to that wire
thanks to max i knew there was a way
the alarm was the only thing that i did not install on my truck and i wish i would of done it myself the place i had it installed was a joke imo
 anyway max helped me out the moral is when you do get a alarm/starter make sure you get a wait to start wire up here in canadathe winters get cold i dont want my glow plugs cycled and then 10 seconds later my truck trying to start

I got the Moble Guardian system in mine. It does not have remote starting, but it does call me when someone tampers with my truck. I lost count of the times that a car alarm was going off and no one was paying any attention.

I had a viper in my van, some guy busted the passenger window out of it, took all my CDs and my portable CD player, all while the horn was honking and the lights flashing. No one lifted a finger.

With this mobile guardian, it calls my cell phone if someone is messing with the truck. In addition, I can log into the a website and see where my truck is and how fast it is going. From the website I can send a disable command that when the key is turned off, the truck will not start.

$759 from the dealer installed, no monthly service fees.

I have the Viper 791, nice alarm, remote start, windows up, down, vent, all the sensors, It is exactly the same alarm as the clifford or the python, just different color cases, mine is blue, the clifford is carbon fiber. My glow plug wire is on a timer, it is about 5 seconds. I was told the new wait to start light is an Led and the wire from the brain would not see the LED so it needed the timer?

I have the Viper. It works great my only ***** is the key fob button sensitivity. It is very easy to depress and you sometimes inadvertantly set or lock/unlock the doors by just having the keys in your pocket.

I Also have the clifford rx 3.5 with the remote window up and down. no problems other than I drownd my siren the other night in teh floods, but it started working again today. I also have the itrax gps locator set up, I Can locate, remote start, lock and unlock the truck from the internet or my phone from any where, and it has a " track stolen vehicle" option as well not sure if the service notifies the police or not off hand havent had to worry about that just yet, also I can set off the alarm remotely by net or phone incase the truck is stolen and locked in a garage out of site so the popo can listen for it. they are working on the software so that the truck will call/ E mail me if the alarm is set off, the hardware is in the unit it just needs the software which I am anxiously awaiting
