Upon futher investigation the leak seems to be comming from the valve cover. After some drips after changing and adding fluids most of the leaks have stopped. Could have been seals reviving after not being used for a while. We've put 600 miles on it now and maybe it just needed to be driven.
I'm going to convert to WVO. I'm going to use two systems independent of each other so I'm going to run a second electric fuel pump. I found a Peugeot diesel tank and it fits between the frame and the doors below the vehicle. It sticks down a couple of inches below the drive shaft but I can weld up a skid plate for it and it should be good. The lines are just as large as the GM lines so it should get good flow. The only trick I want to try is a switch to use the Peugeot sender to go to the GM meter. Not sure it will work. Other than that I want to use 6 & 3 port valves for switching & looping the diesel so I can purge without mixing vegetable oil with diesel in the tank. I'll recirculate the diesel normally when starting or for running for some reason other than warmup. Lawrence Rhodes.....

Sounds good, but I would recommend that you do two things before you convert the truck.

First, find a source for the oil. It is getting very difficult to find a source these days with all the commercial biodiesel manufacturers out there... When I was getting started with WVO, I went to every single place in town and found one source that wasn't taken...

Second, find a way to filter it before you put it in the tank. Everyone has a different method... I haven't found one I really like yet.

IF you're using a second electric fuel pump, just get one from napa that has the anti-drainback valve, put a t at the injection pump, and just switch between fuel pumps. you can still use a 3 port for the return switching. as far as the fuel gauge, maybe you can figure out what ohms the peugot runs on and make an electronic adapter. what peugot is it from, and how many gallons is it? i'm looking for one that fits between the frame and driveshaft myself.

Dang, I never thought of that! Great idea!

not my idea, but works good. actually the 80s ford trucks with dual tanks have this setup factory, which sucks when the exhaust leak burns thru the plastic fuel line on a trip. Thats what happens when you borrow trucks.
the napa part # is P74017 got one waiting for me to install my 40 gallon suburban tank in the rear.
