guys, took her in for service today...this is the printout of results..:


C/s that the service 4wd lamp message is coming on. when it had inop switch had red light on in neutral position.


Found no codes current or history in transfer case or engine.


perfromed reprogram for improved handling of dtc,s and 4x4 lamp problems. 4x4 now working as designed.


what baffles me is that the tsb addresses a heat problem with the encoder stuff.. which must have acted up after a 175 mile run . ?@#??

Eric, if you are reading..whats your iterpretation of this reprogram..? it sounds to me like they just bandaided this thing??any idea? tks, bob

Eric, mine came on again today. Only drove 17 miles to work. No lights on switch. It is suppose to go in for a few things next week.

My Service 4WD came on in my DIC, by the time I got it to the Dealer it had went out. When it first came on I did like the owners manual said, I pulled over and shut down the engine and then restarted it. The Service 4Wd came righ back on. The next morning when I took it in to the dealership it didn't come on. The Tech checked for codes and didn't find anything. They said the flashed a updated program to the Transmission. It hasn't came on since.
