Have a rebuilt 6.2 L and I burnt a hole trough the piston, has happened twice, what would cause this, a stuck injector or is this a pump problem? Any help is great.

By the way this is while it is on Dyno.

We have had some older cummins truck engines do this and it was bad injector tip.


Sprayed more a stream than a fog and like a torch put a hole thru the top.


Myself, I would have the injectors and pump gone thru so I could be sure everything is OK.

Most definitly bad injector tip.

Turned out to be injector lines running to wrong injectors.
