Is putting the transgo and torque converter on before any power mods a bad thing ? Just curious as I have the LLY and want to get it set up correctly and am just waiting for the mods to come out but i know i can do the tranny upgrade and converter now - is it a bad thing to do that first, and is there anything i have to take into consideration. I was thinking about going with either the suncoast or tts transgo and torque converter. thanks

Not at all a bad thing, it is actually a pretty good idea, that way you dont have to worry about it and can run what ya want. You can run a modified tranny at stock power levels just fine. I think most would reccomend it if you plan on adding some power.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif

thanks WD - im just looking to add a bit of power when they come out as i will be mainly towing a toy hauler on weekends so id like some more power - will adding just these 2 items, transo and converter be enough as im not looking on breaking any dyno records or anything - just a little more power and some safety to the tranny - anything else im missing there ?

The tts-Transgo and SINGLE DISK converter is less $$$$ than the Suncoast Triple lock and with the Level III kit comes with a lot more clutch capacity.
I believe the difference is around 400-500 dollars more for the SUNCOAST Level III.
If you think that you will keep it under 450Hp/850-900TQ then you should be fine with the TTS Kit - Diesel Power is holding that now, but if you are concerned about it overbuild it beyond what you will ever do with the truck and forget about it then.
It is up to you.........many say buy whatever you can afford to build it up to.
