The OEM fuel filter is a total PITA to change! Always takes me a half an hour! Eerrr!

Enough venting. I installed the Nicktane pre-oem cat filter at 17k miles. I did my routine maintenance this weekend at 20k miles. Do I have to change that damn oem fuel filter again? The cat filter is so much better, plus I have never been able to drain water out of the oem filter bowl. Been buying from a high volume truck stop and using Power Service in every tank.

Thanks for listening!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

You should really try the process provided by Dmaxallitech. He does a very small bend on the AC line which allows the filter to slide right out the top. No liners or battery's to remove. I did it on my '03, and it made the job extremely simple. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

I changed my filter using the technique that Dmaxallitech provided and it only took me about 15 minutes, although the most difficult part was getting the strap wrench between the cyl head and the bottom of the filter. other than that it went pretty smooth.
