I have been around diesels all of my life but have never seriously owned one before. ( couple of minor scirmishes but nothing major )
I am seriously upset with the quality of the electronic parts and care for the computerized vehicles ( on my second "modern" GM ). I long for the simple days when the one physical thing did a particular task and could be put through a "trouble shooting" routine for diagnostics.
I have had it with "genuine GM certified" mechanics who tell me that a non-running vehicle has nothing wrong with it!
I want to put an "old fashioned", mechanical injection diesel in my 97 pick-up ( WT 1500 ), 5 sp manual . Any help with what-fits-what with these new "vortec" engine compartments will be most appreciated.
thanks
