Needed to take my truck somewhere to get the Recalls on fuel filter and rear center seat belt done, and some diesel specific problems. Looked on the GM Dealer Locator and found that I could pick Duramax from the pick list to find one that worked on Duramaxes. The were only 2 in the Cincinnati area anywhere near, so I pick the one that is in Middleton, reasonably close. Call, and ask if they have a duramax certified mechanic, answer is yes. Tell them about a noise seems to be coming from the rear at 65 under no load normal driving on the highway and that it runs on a bit when the key is off. Also wear spot on the drivers front premium leather seat at 29,000 miles. Get it back they took care of the 2 recalls (haven't looked yet to see if it's the new style filter they put on but will shortly). The noise they attached a note that describes pilot injection at 2500 to 2600 RPM which is 67 MPH when the OD override is selected. Not the problem I explained, said this was the explanation for the run on also and the seat wear is normal. The folks were nice and polite, but obviously don't know #### about diesels or they would have understood my problem/concern when explained. Why do they let you select Duramax and find the dealers with that criteria if it doesn't mean anything! Worthless and disapointing.

Pissed about the seat, will call GM on that. If that's normal wear I won't be buying anything with GM leather in it in the future. My 130,000 mile 99 Jeep grand cherokee doesn't have this problem! Was thinking about replacing the Jeep with a new Suburban soon guess that's off the list. GM isn't helping themselves with customer loyalty and they wonder why they can't sell anything, a partnership with Nissan and Renault won't fix their problems with loyalty IMHO.

Adding insult to injury, the truck wasn't cleaned and the plastic seat cover/paper floor mat were still in the truck when I picked it up. Everytime I dropped this off in TX for work in McKinney it was washed, same when I had my Jeep work done under warranty. figured that was normal proceedure most places, what do you think?

A couple of years ago, I had trouble with the fuel pressure regulator ( I didn't know what was causing the surging at the time). Anyway I'd tell the service writer what the truck was doing and he would reword it. After the second time of can't duplicate, I got pissed and talked with the mech. I discovered we were not all speaking the same language. What the writer put down ment something completley different to them. The next time I made them attach my note of what I wanted (plus I used a different service writer) anyway it all worked out after that.......my dealer does wash my truck also

Could be it wasn't passed on correctly, but I don't have time to waste with second chances, that's part of customer satisfaction and a dealer should have qualified people taking in the vehicles if they expect repeat customers.

If not too far for you--give Tom Gill Chev in Florence Ky. a chance. Always been satisfied with work there.

I always type up a detailed note for the mechanic and bring two copies. I leave one copy on the passenger seat and hand the other one to the service writer and tell the service writer that I have left a copy on the seat for the mechanic. I have had excellent results with this approach.

As far as the seat leather is concerned, my dealer also said that wear on the seat leather was normal and not covered under warranty.
There is a TSB on this available over on the interior forum, do a search for the number.
I quoted the TSB number to them, they looked it up, discussed it, and installed a new seat cover under warranty.
I don't feel it was any kind of dishonesty on their part, just unaware of the TSB.
