When I fired the truck up this morning i drove out a two mile dirt rode and when I first hit the highway my edge eng temp alert came on and said the eng temp is 417 the factory gage said the truck was about 190. since then the edge stays at 417 warm or cold. Now the service engine light came on and when driving the truck has very little power less then stock and i am pretty sure the edge programs are not running. Can't get the egt over 1100 where they would normally be pusshing the limits (towing a 10,000 pound trailer up a steep grade. I don't think the truck is limp mode since I have full rpm range any ideas?

It is an edge problem. Look in the 2nd gen electronics section, there is an almost identical thread.

Thanks
So I went to the father inlaws and used a code reader and got code p0299 (low boost) and one other don't recall the number but was for eng temp circuit out of range. Cleared the codes started the truck and now reads correct temp and truck runs normal again. Also after my last post i noticed while the problem was there that the truck would idle high at start up for about 30-40 seconds.

I just completed a thread "goodbye edge". I have had the exact same problem twice. They are sending me my 3rd unit. I am selling the damn thing brand new in the box. too many headaches. Its funny tho, when i called edge the second time, he sounded like this was something he never heard of.BS....Good luck to you......Im gonna try predator or superchip..

can't speak for predator but super chip has mor problems then any. By the way my edge has been trouble free for 1 1/2 years and i don't feel this recent incident was due to the edge.
