I just installed the 2006 camper mirrors last week. The install went well, and everything worked great afterwards. However, after about 400 miles of happy driving, my interior lights came on, and they won't go out while driving. They will go out after I stop the car, but only after 8 minutes or so (I don't know the exact time it takes to go out, but it's somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes). These lights include the front door lights, the front map lights, and the center light; the passenger map/reading lights do not come on.
So, any clues? Could I have dislodged something in one of the doors when installing the mirrors? The door panels seemed to slide back in place, so I don't think they're keeping the doors from closing all the way (besides, I don't get any warnings about any doors being open). But all of the switches work, so I don't think I disconnected any of the switches.
Thanks for any tips,
Joseph

Stupid question, but are your dash lights on high too? Might try the dimmer by the headlight switch. That would be the only thing I could think might have shorted out. Have you tried the dome light override?

Yup. It was the dimmer switch. Somehow, I must have nudged the switch hard enough to knock it into its "ON" position. I found it this morning. I'd blame it on the kids if I thought it would work, but I think I have to 'fess up on this one!
Boy, do I feel like a dummy.

We've all been there. Don't feel bad. I always take the tough route myself.
On a side note, how do you like the new mirrors? Are they really the cats meow for towing?

The mirrors are great. I have the bottom convex mirrors tilted to show me the trailer wheels and bumper (great for getting cozy next to the curb when parking), and the main mirrors give me a great view around the trailer. I can actually see what's coming up behind me when I change lanes (and when you're loping along at 60 MPH, there's a lot coming up behind you)! After this past week, I can't believe I used the little clip-on mirrors last year.
They also make the truck look like a truck, rather than a sports car with a truck bed (in other words, they are functional vs. sporty, and when I'm traveling with the family, I'm not a sporty kind of guy). If I had the option, I would have bought them without the turn signals on the mirror surface, but it is kind of cool having them.
Buy 'em; you'll be glad you did.
