I just installed an overhead console from a 2000 suburban. Everything is working except that the map lights do not light up when I open the door. The only way they come on is if I hit the button. I took it back off and saw that my original console has three wires going to each light switch, whereas the new console has only two wires to each light switch. Is it possible to take my original switches and splice them into the new console? Also, would this possibly cure the having to turn on/off the light to get the homelink to work? Thanks for any advice. Jerry

My truck came stock with the overhead console, and the map lights only work when I hit the buttons. They do not come on when the door opens.
