Ok so I had to run several errands today and ended up putting over 120 miles on my truck today. About 80 miles in i stop to get a bite to eat and notice my truck is moving around a bit at idle. Also, when accelerating briskly there is a rather large cloud of black smoke coming from my tailpipe.

I do have the pred on 40 hp but it seems like more than it should be, checked the balance rates with the pred, and the ECT with the pred everything seemed okay.(Guage cluster also broke today)

Is anything out of the ordinary happeneing? Do duramaxs ever idle slightly ruff then go back to normal?

Check your injector balance rates with the predator when it's acting up.

You can have a bad injector and still have good balance rates.
Hope your still under 100K.

Sounds like in injectors going bad, just cause balance rates are in spec doesnt mean they are good, get a tech 2 and check return rates.

Hmm are you sure? It doesnt have any diesel in the oil or anything. Can you check the return rates with a Predator?

You can't see the diesel in the on your dip stick. Wipe it good all the way up, Put it back in, Now when you pull it out touch the dip stick with your finger above where you can see the oil level. If it is overfull you can see it on your finger. Don
