It the BD exhaust manifold really worth the $299.99? Has anyone seen gains with it or egt reductions? I was looking at buying one...but if there is no gain why spend the money and time!

Well I got one for:

1. A better install of the pyro probe.
2. The design of it compared to the somewhat restrictive OEM.

Its one of those gains you really can see/feel, but it helps the engine. Do a search and read more from the more knowledge guys here regarding this.

Yeah, its up there in price, but its worth it to ME.

I`m with Bodysurfer on this one,

I too got it for ease of pyro install and whatever benefits it might have over the stock manifold.

If you have $300 to spend, go ahead and buy it. Your going to blow the money on something else anyways.

Every little bit helps and it's cheap compared to most of the stuff, just means no beer for the weekend:eek:

After my manifold cracked where I drilled it for the pyro I will say yes it is worth $300.

I did mine just to do it...and it was easy and cheap. Merchant (http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/vendor_redirect.php?id=21) sells them.

Merchant sells the fender well clips too...and they are much nicer than the stockers! No more PITA removing them!

I dont think I blew my money. If you going to do something, do it right. We spent a lot of money on these trucks, why not buy something to add to it instead of doing the "short cut" and HOPE the drill and tap works. Ya, it might but then it might not based all some coming up with cracks now. Money, well not a problem with me. I guess you would say I wasted MY money on the Volant intake. To each is his own, right?

I dont think I'm "blowing" my money. I work 3 to 4 days a week and get paid great (80-85K/yr). But thats just me.

Oh, by the way Mattmac1, there is ALWAYS money in the beer fund. :D

Bodyserfer, I don't think he was saying you're blowing your money. I think he was saying that you might as well buy the BD manifold, if you don't you'll just blow the money on something else anyway. I don't think he meant it was a bad investment.

does anyone have dyno results of before and after horsepower with it?

Max Power

I really don't think you would notice any HP on the dyno. Maybe 1 or two but that would be about it.

do any of you's know if thay flow better or is it just a money grab? I want a bigger turbo but to get air in you have to be able to get it out. the rescictions will create heat.

Looking at a side by side comparison, you can obviously see the bd will flow better. Will you feel any power differance... NO.

see/feel power differences, most likely not at lower power levels. start pushing the envlope and you might see something?
