mainly keeps the exhaust gasses where it belongs ... in the exhaust!
wich keeps your intake free of soot and crud that builds up over time

On my truck it did all three. I am running almost 1 MPG better and it runs cooler and cleaner. The added bonus is that by redirecting that exhaust back into the exhaust and not the valve train, the turbo spools faster.

Pros:
Little quicker turbo spool
No more exhaust going back into the engine
Engine runs cooler
Better mpg
Cons:
Might void warranty
Takes a little longer for engine to warm up.

If I were to do it for any reason it would only be to have your motor run cleaner. I wouldnt bank on any other pros JMO (I seem to get a hair better milage though)

I lost about .7mpg after the plate but B4 I put the stick in. So I was running with the cel on all the time, about a week with several long runs. Put the stick in last night and have a long haul this weekend so Ill see if it goes up or back to previous mpg's +. I think having the cel on may funk with the ecm, maybe more confused with the pup pgm in.
