could be normal. but the torque converter bolt issue is
true can you feel the noise in the floor board.to inspect if the toruqe convertor bolts are lose remove the acess metel place on the bel housing rotate the flywheel look for the bolts to have rust streeks going away from the bolt if so the bolt is lose.

Well that depends on your definition of a big problem....has it hit many people....well maybe not.......it does happen..(trust me).....but it is very expensive to fix so in that respect it is a big problem....I noticed some shutter during shifting and lockup when mine let go.

The lugs on the TC cracked and barfed oil everywhere. I didn't have a tapping sound that I heard.....the engine is famous for the typewriter sound....the duramax tick.....pop the hood and listen for it in the engine area....just to be sure.

if it is the TC it costs about 2K to fix so brace yourself.....I went with the suncost as long as I had to spend money.

I hope your under warranty

On edit: it only costs that much if the TC is shot......I didn't catch mine so I was screwed....if you get yours sorted before a leak happens youshould be OKEdited by: 403turbo
