The plastic door handles don't get scratched. My 80's and 70's trucks used to get the paint scratched from every ones grubby hands.

Im gonna do it just for the simple fact that, in my opinion, it looks much better. A good coat of wax kept on them will help cut down on the scratches. Just my opinion though.
