At first, it sounds like the TPS went bad. There is an electronic sensor connected to the pedal. In the sensor there are 3 resistive elements. The computer checks to verify all of the 3 elements are giving the same signal back. If one of the elements gives a different resistance back to the computer, it will cause a CEL. The fact that it is going dead and not throwing a CEL sounds more like the connector might be loose. Look by the pedal and find the big black sensor stuck to the side. I would check the wiring to make sure its not damaged.

I know on the corvette you cannot buy the sensor alone, you have to buy the module with the pedal attached -:t

How old is the Copilt and does it interface with teh APP?

What codes are being set?

While not impossible, it is highly unlikely that your APP module went bad.

I agree, they dont just "go dead", hence the triple redundancy...

I have the older copilot i dont think it taps in to App sensor.

Also it did not set any codes.

That's a MAF code.

Explain a bit more about your "dead pedal".

When it has dead pedal, can you get up to 1800 rpm?

Just wondering if you're actually seeing a "hidden" 1093.

When I blew my intercooler hose off the SD manifold I got MAF codes and it wouldn't go above 50mm3. Another possibility.

Well when the pedal goes dead i can put it to the floor and it will just idle. Also when it happened today I put in 4Low to get off the road and it started working again.
I would like to thnk all of you for taking the time to help me with this problem:thankyou2

I'm starting to think it may be a bad connection somewhere since it's intermittent. Could also be a flaky ECM.

I'm experienceing the same issue, although it doesn't happen unless I take my foot off to coast and then as I apply pressure, nothing is happening. This doesn't always happen, and actually is not frequent at all, but nonetheless frustrating when you have to release and then get on the pedal again in order to get out of the way of something from a standstill. I found out early that this is fly by wire, but rather than dole out $200+ for a new APP, is there a way to clean/lube it or is it totally solid state and no mechanical parts within that would benefit?
