I would like to change my own transmission fluid but I am a little concerned about a complete flush. As stated, Dexron and transynd is compatible but would it be of any harm to drain the pan only (6.5qts?) and bake fill with transynd? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

Yes they are compatible and no it won't hurt anything to do a partial flush. But......there is always a but.....you will not get any benefit from the transynd until you get it up to 90% or so of the fluid.....at least thats what i have been told.

You would need to flush like that several times to get the levels up

Well, that's what I was afraid off. Transynd is a little expense if the full benefits are not going to be realized. Maybe I should dive in and do the complete flush.
